The Official Methods and Recommended Practices of the AOCS 6th Edition, contains methodology required for proficiency testing in the Laboratory Proficiency Program (LPP), as well as AOCS Laboratory Certification. Additionally, AOCS methods are internationally recognized for trade, and several are listed by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

Since the 1920s, the global fats and oils industry has relied on the analytical integrity of the Official Methods and Recommended Practices of the AOCS. The AOCS has set the standard for analytical methods critical to processing, trading, utilizing, and evaluating fats, oils, and lipid products. Worldwide acceptance has made the AOCS Methods a requirement wherever fats and oils are analyzed.

Lipids
Lipids focuses on publishing high-quality peer-reviewed papers and invited reviews in the general area of lipid research, including chemistry, biochemistry, clinical nutrition, and metabolism. In addition, Lipids publishes papers establishing novel methods for addressing research questions in the field of lipid research.

JAOCS
JAOCS (Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society) publishes original research articles, invited reviews, and letters to the editor that add significantly to the body of knowledge concerning the science and technology of fats, oils, oilseed proteins, and related materials. Included are reports of advances, innovations or important new information pertaining to analysis, properties, processing, products, and applications of these food and industrial resources.
